System features

We are developing Wikify.io as a collection of microservices that help to collect, organize, and analyze information about articles, individual edits, and their authors.

Activity monitoring

What's going on, really? Is Wikipedia growing or stagnating? We need numbers on editor activity to figure out their lifecycle in the community: who is losing interest in the encyclopedia, and who is ready to take on more?

Main features

  • Collect various statistics on the number of edits, new articles and deletions, registration of new users and departure of experienced contributors, et cetera.
  • Monitoring the activity of participants with additional permissions (from autopatrolled to administrators).
  • Search for anomalies in the behavior of new editors and changes in the behavior of experienced contributors, including activity in different language sections.
  • Identification of clusters of increased activity in articles and discussions.

Article watch

We have developed a more powerful tool for tracking edits than Wikipedia provides. The service makes it easier to keep track of groups of articles, record more information, and provide smarter notification of important events.

Main features

  • Keep track of all edits to any article or group of topics united by a category or template. Automatic updating of article lists.
  • Record each edit in a convenient .pdf-document. Ability to send to a telegram bot.
  • Ability to tag edits and authors. And also wide possibilities of sorting logs by source, author, article, time and tags.
  • Saving deleted articles and hidden edits.
  • Flexible notification system that takes into account the nature of edits, age of accounts and their rights. Notifications of new authors who have not been interested in a particular topic before are also available.

Finding groups and intersections

Searching for influence groups and spam networks is an extremely time-consuming task. Tools accelerate hypothesis testing and allow you to accumulate information, making hypothesis testing faster and more efficient.

Main features

  • Search for intersections in articles between editors on Russian and English Wikipedia, as well as on Wikimedia Commons.
  • Possibility to form and save groups of authors.
  • Ability to upload and share statistics.
  • Tracking contributions of an editor or author group with flexible action filtering settings.

Link analysis

Wikipedia is based on facts, and references to sources are an obligatory component of any article. The service allows us to find out what edits were used to add or remove a link, by whom and when. We can find out not only supporters/opponents of a certain site, but also analyze the popularity of the resource as an authoritative source over time.

Main features

  • Search by specific link or edit, by article and by contributor.
  • Logging of all links added to articles/discussions.
  • Ability to retrieve for a particular article all links ever used in it.
  • All links used by a particular editor with extensive filtering capabilities.
  • All links from a specific domain and analysis of resource popularity (in articles in general, as well as by specific editors).
  • Alerts when a new link to a specific site appears.
